Prepare a PCB design brief
Help the engineering team understand the scope and expected output.
Project requirements
- What the board should do and where it will be used.
- Power input, expected loads and external interfaces.
- Board dimensions, mounting holes, connector locations and enclosure constraints.
- Preferred parts, CAD software and any existing design files.
- Target quantity, schedule and the deliverables you need.
Existing design revisions
Identify which schematic and layout are current. If requesting a review, describe known issues, test results and the changes already attempted. Separate reference material from files that must be modified.
Agree on scope
Use the design enquiry form to start the discussion. Confirm the scope, deliverables, revision process and quotation with the team before work begins.
