BOM and placement-file checklist
Provide clear part identities and placement references for an assembly enquiry.
Bill of materials
Include reference designators, quantity per board, manufacturer, manufacturer part number, value or description and package. Distinguish similar parts by their complete part numbers. Mark do-not-populate positions explicitly.
Placement information
For each populated component, provide its reference designator, X and Y position, rotation and board side. State the units and coordinate origin. Check polarized parts against the assembly drawing.
Substitutions and customer-supplied parts
State whether alternatives are allowed and which characteristics must be preserved. If you plan to supply parts yourself, ask support to confirm acceptance and packing requirements before shipping anything. Availability and substitution decisions require confirmation for the actual order.
