Prepare a Gerber fabrication package

Include the manufacturing layers

• Gerber data for every copper layer in the intended stack-up.
• Solder mask and silkscreen layers used by the design.
• A clearly defined board outline.
• Drill files for holes, with plated and non-plated information identified.
• A fabrication drawing or notes for requirements not represented by the layer files.

Check the package

Export all files from the same final revision and use consistent units and coordinates. Open the export in a viewer to check the outline, layer alignment and hole locations. Remove obsolete exports so the archive contains one unambiguous design revision.

Use clear filenames that identify each layer. Keep the original CAD project separately for future revisions.

Upload and verify

Put the fabrication files in an archive and upload it through PCB Instant Quote. Check the size and layer count shown after upload. Describe any ambiguity in the PCB Remark field instead of relying on a filename alone.
